City Creek Center Preview Gala

I have been waiting for the new City Creek Center to be finished for a very long time! It has made me so excited every time I go downtown and see all the progress that has been made.

Well the time is almost here! You can actually get a chance to shop the 80 stores the mall has and walk through the center before it opens to the public!

The City Creek Center Preview Gala will be held on March 21st from 6:30-9:30 pm the event  includes:

Complimentary parking

Continuous Entertainment

Food and refreshments

Hospitality Suite

Shopping! (My favorite)

The price per ticket is fifty Dollars and each ticket includes a twenty dollar VISA gift card. Also 100% of the ticket sales goes directly to 4 wonderful Utah charities.

I think it’s really neat they let you choose the charity when purchasing the tickets. Here are the choices.

The Road Home

Ballet West

Junior League of Salt Lake City

and Utah’s Hogle Zoo

Tickets are limited so this is not something you want to wait on. To buy your tickets go to www.shopcitycreekcenter.com

I can’t wait! I am most excited for Tiffany & Co! I know I won’t be able to actually afford to purchase anything there, but just going in and window shopping will be enough for me!

*I received 2 event tickets to help spread the word about this amazing evening! So if you see me there please say hi!

Why I love Reality TV Stars From Utah

It All started when I was in high school there was  a show called The Real world on MTV. Heard of it? Yeah I thought so. Probably one of the first reality TV shows ever, in my opinion. There was a cast member named Julie She was a student at BYU and was the same religion as me, Mormon (LDS). I was intrigued and got hooked on the show pretty quickly. My brother and I watched every episode and loved every minute.

Ever since then whenever there has been a Utahn on a reality TV show I have a hard time not watching. From Survivor, to American Idol to the Bachelor to the Biggest Loser. Utah has definitely had it’s fair share of Reality Stars I mean can you say David Archuleta???

Photo from wikipedia

I also totally went to high school with Michelle from The Bachelor. yes that Michelle. Truth be told I did not know her at all.

It is probably strange that I  get super interested when I share the geographical location with a person on TV But I just can’t help it. I do watch Reality Shows when someone is not from my state as well. I just seem to get more sucked into it when they are. Maybe it is because I always  wonder if I will ever run into any of them in the mall or at the grocery store. I know that I would in a non stalking way of course run up to them and gush a little and insist on a picture.

Imagine my surprise while attending EVO this past July I was sitting across from this very cute, strangely familiar person. I knew her! But from where? I had to say something. The usual You look so familiar came out of my mouth. When she said in a very humble nice way. “Oh it’s probably because I was on the last season of The Biggest Loser.” I had only watched EVERY episode! I could not believe that I did not recognize Sarah in person! On this particular season of The Biggest Loser lets just say there was a plethora of Utahns. How could I not have known?

that was not my finest moment to say the least. At least I did snag a picture with her.

This season of Survivor is no exception for me. I am rooting for Dawn She is  from none other than UTAH. Yes I know she was voted off last episode but seriously people she is not out of the game and was only sent to redemption island, not totally off of the show. I have high hopes she can beat Ozzy in the challenge to get back on. I just hope it’s a balancing challenge, she rocks at those. Also after mentioning her on twitter a few weeks ago she tweeted me back! That was pure awesome!

Anyone else love it when their State is represented on TV? Or, is this strange obsession only had by me??

Libby’s Food Drive Event in Utah

This week in Utah there is a wonderful community out reach going on! Libby’s is partnering with Habitat for Humanity Salt lake City who is building three new/refurbished homes for families in need this year.

You can help to get food to families in need by donating non perishable food items to 16 locations of Fresh Market from Logan to Price and in Park city. They will be collecting food through October 22nd.

This is something that can easily be done and would so benefit people in need. Any amount helps.

Libby’s is providing each family that moves into the Habitat for Humanity homes a pantry full of Libby’s Products, a dining table, and place settings.

I find it so neat that Libby’s believes it is so important to eat dinner as a family and that the table is the heart of the home. To find resources and tips Visit www.getbacktothetable.com It has a lot of great information, tips, and recipes. The recipe for Lime and Cumin chicken tenders with fiesta rice looked so good to me! I think Even my picky 2 year old would love it.

You can also follow them on Twitter   and facebook.

I so agree with Libby’s on their eating together as a family focus. Some of our greatest and most hilarious conversations as a family have been done around the dinner table it is where a lot of memories have been made. I think I really take it for granted and don’t realize how many families struggle with putting meals on the table.

I hope you are able to help donate food by stopping at Fresh Market this week. You can also help me share the message by tweeting this out.

In #Utah? Join @LibbysTable through 10/22 in donating nonperishable food 2 ur local Fresh Market 4 @Habitat_Org http://wp.me/p1QyLF-En

The Habitat for Humanity house is being built on October 29th from 9am to 4pm. What a blessing this house will be to a family in need. I know that every little bit can make a difference and I am so happy to help spread the word about something so great going on in Utah.

*Though I am being compensated by Libby’s for sharing this information all opinions are my own.

Summer

Summer gets pretty boring fast if you don’t do anything about it. So I at least did something fun with the Screamettes on the first day of summer. Too bad I set the precedence way too high by taking them to Cowabunga Bay.

This is seriously one of the funnest places in Utah.

The thing I love most about this water park is it’s size. It is the perfect size for little kid’s, not too big that you lose them right when you get in the park. Read the rest of this entry »

Ruby Snap

I love to visit local businesses. There is nothing better than trying something unique and original. That is why I was so happy to attend a bloggers event sponsored by I heart Salt lake at the cookie bakery RubySnap. To say the cookies were good is a huge understatement. They were amazing and so different.

The ingredients used are fresh and from around the world. These cookies are just the right consistency and so delicious that I am dreaming of one right now.

I love how Rubysnap displays the cookies. Each cookie has an adorable name with a really cute vintage pinup girl photo representing the cookie. So you can put a face with a cookie so to speak.

Before I visited  RubySnap I was looking at their cute website with my girls. Shriek had so much fun reading the cookie flavors and telling me which one sounded the best. They all sound amazing!

I tried all the flavors. just so I could distinctly state my favorite (I am that dedicated). I could not narrow it down to just one but I loved the Lilly, Judy and the Ricki. The Lilly is a lemon sugar cookie with lemon heads and a lemon glaze. What is not to love about that?

I also loved listening to Tami the owner talk about her business. She was so inspiring. I really enjoyed how she talked about this being her Happiness project. She believes in what she does and loves how much joy her cookies bring to people.

Me and Tami, the owner of RubySnap

The best news is you don’t have to live in Utah to try Rubysnap cookies. Visit the online store that can ship baked cookies or the cookie dough to anywhere in the U.S Or Canada.

There is not many things in life that are better than mingling with other bloggers and eating a bunch of cookies so a big Thanks goes to I heart Salt Lake and RubySnap for such a fun night.
